the Best of the Best PoemsI need a friend who will be mineWhom when I see, my eyes shall shine!
A Kashmiri Girl
This is a story about a girl, who was eleven! Who lived in the country, which has been named heaven! When born, she was welcomed with firing, Who killed her mother and left her crying! The day she was suppose to celebrate, turned out to be a mourning date! She spent her early years in searching shelter,
And finding some one who could really help her!
When seven, instead of going to school,
She used to beg to get some food!
At the age of eight, her elder brother was martyred,
Just because he was calling the people for prayer!
When she turned nine, she would just hide,
Hide from the soldier's bullets and their knives!
At the age of ten, she would just cry,
Because no one would let her live a calm life!
And the day she turned eleven, she was gifted a
precious gift,
Which freed her from this life and let her lift!
The bullets went straight through her head,
And she rose towards the sky leaving behind the dead!
The story of a KASHMIRI girl ends here,
But at the same time another girl is born to live her
life in fear!

Dreams...
He was lying on the footpath, waiting for someone, With whom he could have some fun! But as years passed and no one came, He thought that his life would always be the same! "What did I do, what is my fault? Why am I the only one who is lost?"
He kept on thinking, but couldn't find a clue,
Coz he knew that even his soul wasn't true!
He knew that his life would end like this,
Coz his dreams were covered by a dark mist!
And one day, a loyal friend came,
With whom he could play games!
But this friend could not give him time
Coz he was there to take his life!
And when that friend, whose name was death,
Took his life away, he felt like he was sleeping in a
cozy bed!
It seemed like all his dreams came true,
Now the dark mist was letting him through!
Passing through it, he reached his dreamland,
Where everyone was free and had a friend!
This is where his story end's
But now he has tons of friends!

Forgive Me...
Forgive me, my dear old friend, I really never meant to hurt you! The shame and guilt is all over me, Forgiveness is the only thing that can let me through!
All that happened was just a silly mishap,
It was you who said, life itself is a mistake!
So please try to understand and forgive me,
If not for me, then for your own sake!
Yes, now I feel that you were right,
But believe me, I never thought of it before!
I knew there was someone who really cared,
And now when I know it's you, I feel guilty more &
more!
I don't have words to tell you how I feel,
But you know that true friendship needs not to be
explained,
Now if you feel that all this was true,
Forgive me, 'coz you know how much I hate to fail!

Please Dont Go!
I heard about it yesterday night, And suddenly everything was very slow, I never thought that all this would happen, So please don't go and leave me alone!
I clearly remember the days when we used to fight,
Just to figure out the day we met!
All those memories are just so great,
So please don't go and leave me upset!
And the days when we used to chew gum, just to be
cool,
And act to be popular without even trying!
Without you, I'm sure I'd look like a fool,
So please don't go and leave me crying!
You promised that you would always be there,
& that our friendship is the one, which no one else
can find!
For the sake of the secrets we have kept and memories
we have shared,
Please don't go and leave me behind!

My Silent Friend
I once had a friend, who was very shy, I loved her more than anyone,
But she always made me cry.
Whenever I talked to her, she would just stay quiet,
But still I looked into her eyes,
to see the love I was finding, all day and night!
I always wanted to tell her how I felt,
But the way she remained silent,
It made my heart melt!
And one day, she left without saying a word,
All I could do was miss her,
Coz her silence made me feel like a dead bird!
